1) Stop your apps from refreshing in the background.
Many apps continue running and refreshing in the background, even after you leave them and begin using a different app. For many apps however, this feature is not necessary and will simply drain your mobile phone battery.
In an effort to preserve your battery, why not disable automatic app refresh? To do so, simply go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and slide the toggle to off (grey). Alternatively, you can disable to the automatic refresh for individual apps if there are some you'd like to keep refreshed at all times.
2) Update your mobile phone's software
Upgrading to the latest iOS generally allows access to great new features, however software upgrades also often include new energy-saving systems which will help to preserve you phone's battery.
To update your mobile phone software, go to Settings > General > Software Update and download and new updates when available.
3) Switch low power mode on
It might seem obvious, but a great way to get more life out of your iPhone battery is to enable Low Power Mode.
Low Power Mode reduces the power usage of your phone once the battery level decreases to 20%, adding up to 3 hours to battery life.
4) Turn off location services
Certain apps constantly keep track of your location in order to help them function. However, this continuous refresh in the background can have negative effects on your battery life. Switch off your location services when not in use to potentially add hours to the battery life of your iPhone, simply go to Settings > Privacy > Location Settings.
5) Switch to airplane mode
Whilst airplane mode is designed specifically for use of aeroplanes in order to stop signal disruptions, the setting is also great for preserving the life of your iPhone battery.
When you find yourself in places with little to no signal, switch to airplane mode to stop your phone from overworking to find signals. This search for better connection will kill the life of your battery over time and will often be unsuccessful!
