The stakes are high for Samsung, following the battery issues that many users experienced with the Samsung Note 7.
It’s time to delve in to all the conjecture that is surrounding the next Samsung flagship release, Samsung are looking to build upon their renowned all-screen technology and take things one step further. To infinity and beyond
So, what do we know so far? Rumours are swirling that the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is likely to have a 6.4-inch screen with an infinity display. There are also very strong indicators that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will have a pixel-sense 4 K resolution, if this is true, then this will certainly be one of the first smartphones on the market to possess a pixel-dense 4K resolution screen.
What is ‘infinity display’? previously, Samsung have classified the almost bezel-free Galaxy S8 as having an infinity display, so it would certainly make sense to utilise this same terminology for similar technology.

Could we be seeing a foldable phone in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8? There have been rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could feature a foldable phone, but so far, these rumours have been unfounded. Samsung have teased us with foldable phone in the coming months, but we are most likely to see this in a future version of the Samsung Galaxy Note in the future and this will most likely be more in the region of a curved screen as opposed to completely foldable.
Design wise, we can expect the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to take its design cues from the Samsung Galaxy S8 + which launched earlier this year. There are suggestions that there will be no physical home button on the proposed Galaxy Note 8 and instead, we can expect a pressure-sensitive screen that renders a variety of menus and options, depending on how you touch it.
One Touch
Further to a prototype leak, there are suggestions that Samsung may have identified a way to embed a fingerprint sensor within the phone screen. This hasn’t been confirmed, however, the prototype doesn’t appear to show a physical fingerprint sensor.

What about the camera? The Samsung camera is certainly due for an upgrade and the Note 8 is the ideal opportunity to implement changes such as a dual-lens camera and a 3x optical zoom. In fact, supposedly, the Galaxy Note 8 will have a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto one, and you'll be able to combine them for a 3x optical zoom.
Better Battery
We can’t not talk about the battery – we anticipate that the battery for the Note 8 is going to be big, most likely in the region of 3,500mAh, like Samsung's current crop of phones. Samsung will have certainly have implemented changes to ensure that there is no repeat of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
App-tastic
The spec of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be like the spec of the S8 and the S8+, but possibly with an increase in RAM. An increase in memory will mean that more apps can be utilised at the same time.
Talk to the stylus
Will the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 feature a stylus? There are certainly suggestions that back this up and further rumours have implied that the stylus may include a built-in speaker too.
To stay ahead of the security game, it is likely that we will see an iris scanner in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 too.
You will be looking to pay around £780 for a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but if the rumours are said to be true, this will definitely be worth the investment for Samsung fans who are keen to get their hands on Samsung’s latest flagship phone.
