What Microsoft 365 Apps for Business Come Included?
There was no OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) in the Xperia Z3 – but can we expect it to feature in the upcoming Xperia Z4? Fingers crossed, because good old camera shake has really ruined many a great photo.
A clip that is circulating from a company called ON Semiconductor seems to show that the upcoming Xperia phone will carry the technology. The footage was shot at MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona and appears credible.
Shake baby, shake!
For those new to this technology, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) uses hardware mechanisms to counteract what most of us would call ‘camera shake’. Whereas Xperia up until now has relied on Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS), a form of software trickery, to help reduce the blur – but this sadly isn't quite as good.
iPhone 6 uses DIS whereas – confusingly – the iPhone 6 Plus uses OIS! Presumably because they have caught on that it is a very handy feature to have. There is a downside though; the OIS technology does tend to push the price up. Hence why many manufacturers decide to plump for DIS instead.
Obviously we won't be in a position to know for certain until the Xperia Z4 is actually launched and as yet no one is quite sure when that will be. When it failed to appear at Mobile World Congress the release date would look further away than perhaps one would expect.
Rest assured, all eyes will be on the camera specs when it finally does see the light of day!
