23rd September 2016
You can now free up your storage by deleting default apps (finally!).
Siri is now able to access some apps using voice recognition – including WhatsApp, Facebook and Uber.
Maps is now a lot more intelligent – responding to Calendar events and even helping you to find your car by pairing with Bluetooth.
There is now a facial recognition feature which scans your photos and creates profiles for individual people in your camera roll.
New emojis have been added, plus a feature which allows you to tap certain words when typing a message and swap them for a relevant emoji.
Animate your message receiver's screen by adding confetti or a shooting star background to your message.
iMessage now offers the option to draw over images and videos before sending them.
You are also now able to send texts with an impact effect – for example make the message slowly reveal when the receiver opens it, or make it expand on their screen.
There are now new ways of using your home button – unlock your phone by pressing the button to activate touch ID. You can opt out of this change by going to your General Settings.
iOS 10 comes equipped with a Bedtime app that monitors your sleep and reminds you when it is time to go to bed.
