Sluggishness in performance isn’t an issue with either device, seeing that they both work at an impressive pace. HTC One M9's 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores (2GHz) and another four at 1.5GHz, combines with 3GB of RAM! Dynamic to say the least. Whilst the iPhone 6 doesn't seem as good on paper with a 1.4GHz dual-core A8 processor and only 1GB of RAM. Functioning says otherwise though.
Apple's handsets always have admirable unity between hardware and software, but speedy page loading, easy handling of complex sites, and smooth navigational controls, mean that both phones equally come up with the goods in this area.
The HTC One M9 has more battery life, power, a sharper screen, while the iPhone 6 appears to have a better camera and attention grabbing technology like the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
When it comes to making or taking a call (after all these are phones) the HTC One M9 is near perfect. The caller’s voices sounds clear through either earpiece or speaker, even when having conversations in noisy background environments. The iPhone 6 is a good experience too, but the speakerphone does give some distortion.
Seeing – and holding – them ‘in the flesh’ is probably the best way to decide which one you prefer. One M9 undoubtedly has a superior ergonomic feel, whilst the iPhone 6 seems a far more nimble and compact device in comparison.
Certainly the ultra slim iPhone 6 will appeal to those who prefer visual discretion, but they are both good looking phones – of that there is no doubt.
