Regular attendees of live shows will be well accustomed to the sight of glowing screens dotted throughout the show venue, but are these attempts at preserving moments for the future actually stopping us from enjoying them in the present?
For some, a smart phone to snap pictures and videos on is an essential element of their live show experience, however, for others they are irritating and distracting.
The debate continues from the audience, right through to the artists performing. Many bands have completely banned smart phones from their gigs, claiming that they are distracting, and noticing fans texting whilst they perform is upsetting. However, other artists actively encourage their fans to use smart phones during their performance, uploading mobile images to popular event photo sharing websites.
It seems that in the age of technology, smart phones and the concept of preserving each and every one of our experiences in digital form is one we are unable to shy away from.
What are you views on smart phone use during live shows? Are you a fan, or are you against it altogether?
