What Microsoft 365 Apps for Business Come Included?
The latest data from Strategy Analytics shows that shipments of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus grew by 35% year-over-year from Q2 in 2014. It also showed that Apple managed to ship a total of 47.5 million smartphones during the last quarter, while Microsoft suffered a big drop from second down to fourth in market share.
Apple has made big strides over the last year, finally taking second place away from Microsoft last quarter and now holding an 11% global market share. They remain second only to Samsung, who currently hold 20.5% of the global market share, but this did fall quite significantly in the last quarter by 2.2%.
Unfortunately for Microsoft, their big drop in market share was primarily down to the poor performance of its Lumia devices as we all waited for the release of Windows 10 at the end of July. It remained popular in India, but this was not echoed in other markets.
Whilst all this was going on, it was a great quarter for Chinese manufacturers, with their market share continuing to grow. Similarly to Apple, Huawei managed to jump ahead of Microsoft into third place with 7% of the global market – mainly down to the excellent performance of its 4G models.
Ultimately, this was a massively strong quarter for Apple. With the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus becoming the fastest-selling smartphone in the world, there is surely more success on the horizon for the company.
