Samsung Galaxy S10
The Galaxy S8 was a big reinvention for Samsung, but the Galaxy S9 was more of a gentle evolution than a dramatic revolution. The rumours are that that the S10 is going to be one to get excited about: apparently Samsung are opting for edge-to-edge display with “punch hole” style cut-out for the selfie camera and a flatter “lite” version of the flagship.
Huawei P30
Huawei are becoming ever more popular in the UK and their new P model is expected to drop in the Spring. A new processor for the phone seems certain at this point, as do better cameras; it's possible that Huawei will go for a quad-camera of four lenses.
Sony Xperia XZ4
According to leaks, the Sony Xperia XZ4 has an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a length of over 15cm. This taller version of the Xperia is expected to have three cameras and better battery life than ever before. It’s likely that Sony will be showcasing the phone at MWC Barcelona in late February.
iPhone 2019
The rumour mill always goes into overdrive when it comes to new iPhone models, so much so that we still don’t know if this one will be the iPhone XS 2019, iPhone 11 or even iPhone XI. While the alleged interchangeable camera lens and new lightning charging port are as yet unconfirmed, there is a lot of talk of how Apple will integrate 5G, so this could be the biggest update should it come to fruition.
Samsung Galaxy X
Perhaps the most ground-breaking phone on this list, the Samsung Galaxy X is turning heads around the world as a foldable phone. The idea is that the phone has two 4.6-inch screens that double up when folded out: there’s a third screen on the back to be viewed when the phone is folded. It’s essentially a cross between a phone and tablet, but there are reportedly still issues with the phone's closing design that need to be worked out before it can be pushed into production.
