The Mobile World Congress (MWC) that is taking place on the 26th of February, in Barcelona, is where it’s likely that multiple smartphone details will be released to the general public. More than 108,000 people are expected to be attending the MWC event, it’s the largest and most anticipated gathering in the mobile industry.
Samsung Galaxy S9
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is arguably the biggest smartphone announcement of the year, due to its exciting new features that haven't been seen before. The rumours suggest the new S9 is more expensive than the previous models, with a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED screen that could have an integrated Qualcomm fingerprint sensor. In late 2017, Samsung licensed glass coating technology can make water bounce off smartphone screens, we hope this technology is applied to the new Samsung Galaxy S9.
Moto G6 Plus
Last year in 2017, Moto announced debuted the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at the MWC event in Barcelona, so there are many rumours speculating the same thing for 2018. One of the most affordable phone models the Moto G6 and Plus is rumoured to be priced at £172 to £250, with a 5.7-inch full HD+ screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, with 16GB internal storage. The camera is expected to have a 12MP dual lens rear camera, and a 16-megapixel front camera - perfect for taking high-quality selfies!
Likely to be announced at the MWC event in February 2018, the Nokia 9 has got lots of buzz surrounding what new features it will bring to the smartphone world. A representative for HMD Global has hinted that a phone model is being released with a larger screen “to meet the needs of absolutely all users.” Rumours suggest the Nokia 9 will include an all-metal body, that’s also water resistant. The Nokia 9 will most likely have a 5.5-inch QHD OLED screen, which is exciting as it will bring more a vibrant picture to its user than previous models.
